THE ICELANDIC HIGHLANDS

THE HIGHLANDS OF ICELAND WERE ONE OF THOSE PLACES THAT CAPTURED US IMMEDIATELY. THERE IS SOMETHING ABOUT THIS LANDSCAPE THAT IS HARD TO DESCRIBE — VAST, RAW, AND CONSTANTLY CHANGING, WITH A VARIETY OF COLORS, TEXTURES, AND FORMS THAT WE HAVE FOUND NOWHERE ELSE IN EUROPE.

DRIVING THE F-ROADS INTO THE HIGHLANDS IS AN EXPERIENCE IN ITSELF. THE DEEP VALLEYS, VOLCANIC LANDSCAPES, RIVERS, MOUNTAINS, AND DESERT-LIKE AREAS SEEM TO CHANGE AROUND EVERY CORNER. AND THEN THERE ARE THE PLACES THAT CAN ONLY BE REACHED ON FOOT — MAKING HIKING THROUGH THIS REMOTE LANDSCAPE JUST AS SPECIAL AS EXPLORING IT BY CAR.

FOR US, BEING THERE FEELS LIKE A SMALL ADVENTURE EVERY TIME. TO DRIVE THE F-ROADS, TO LEAVE THE CAR BEHIND AND START WALKING, TO FIND NEW LANDSCAPES AROUND THE NEXT CORNER — IT IS EXACTLY THE KIND OF TRAVEL WE LOVE.

THE ICELANDIC HIGHLANDS HAVE A WAY OF MAKING US WANT TO KEEP EXPLORING. NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES WE RETURN, THERE ALWAYS SEEMS TO BE ANOTHER VALLEY, ANOTHER MOUNTAIN, OR ANOTHER LANDSCAPE WAITING TO BE DISCOVERED.
